Improving accessibility for people with a visual impairment
We are proud to be working with the Thomas Pocklington Trust to improve accessibility across our portfolio for people who are living with a visual impairment (VI) or who are registered blind.
Following accessibility audits across all sites and a grant from Lex Leisure, we are so pleased to be working with the Thomas Pocklington Trust to introduce:
– Larger tactile locker numbers with braille
– Larger tactile changing room signage with braille
– Stair nosing and step edging
– Wayfinding signage
– Sight Loss Council collaborations
– VI Awareness training
– Deaf and VI Friendly Swimming training for swim teams
– Disability and VI multi activity days
– VI Lived experience groups
